What's on my needles

I have a tendency to start something, and then... well start something else. I'm trying to fix this, but so many things yell at me to make them. Mostly in british accents.
I have: (to my best recollection)
two mkal shawls
five pairs of socks
one pair of mittens- that are so close to being done, one nights worth of knitting, and bam, mittens
One hat (the mittens and the hat are christmas gifts...)
One cowl
One sweater- currently on hold because I thought I lost the yarn, so i ordered more, and it turns out I didn't lose it.
One pair of slippers that I lost the pattern to. It's somewhere in one of the many boxes that I still have to unpack.
One pair of slippers that have been in time out because I messed up the stitch count and have to frog them.
Three shawls that are for my mom- which really need to be finished (altho I just cast on for her latest birthday shawl)
One never ending I will die before I finish this thing scarf
And my new stick weaving nook cover thing.
Since I feel a bout of spring cleaning about to take place soon (which will even include washing my skylight, still figuring that one out) I think I'll also do some spring finishing! Some of these things just have a bit left to do, others have hours and hours of work to finish them. Either way, this will be fun! Maybe. What about you? Feel like doing any spring finishing?
Of course, what would knitting be without watching some netflix? Asta loves watching tv with me.

Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Wednesday night, after I drove my mother to pt, a kidney doctor (she's fine! YAH), we went to the local knit night at Flying Fiber. My mother bought me a stick weaving kit, and since then, I've been somewhat obsessed. just a tad! This is my practice piece, the yarn came with the sticks

then I made a head band!

(like my view?)

A coffee sleeve I need to sew together and take pictures of
I made a mug rug, that also needs to be sewn together (I adore this)

And I was playing around with using two colours, and decided to make a book mark. Only afterwords, did I realize that the colours were Ravenclaw colours!

Now, I'm making a small bag to keep my nook in. The yarn is Paton's wool, and I'm just in love with how it stripes up!

I also finished my mystery shawl, and Asta approves! now I have to weave in all the ends, wash and block, and get proper photos!

7 things of randomness

A quick catch up post
1.Mycroft has a thing for fuzzy blankets, this is what I see when I wake up

2.This is the Through the loops mystery sock,
Really loving this.

3.Progress on my Joji mystery shawl (of which I am so far behind)

4. Migraines suck. I mean like, totally and completely suck. they make it impossible to do anything at all.

5. This is my bedside table/dresser.

6. Extra long cowls can be used a head covering when you forgot your hat and it's in the single digits

7. I woke up with this stuck in my head.

Sick

I hope you had a wonderful holiday! As for here, the day after Christmas (I got a wine making kit, it kinda totally rocks along with my AMAZING HOBBIT SLIPPERS), my mom went in for a knee replacement. Some things happened, and she wasn't released for over a week. Two days later, she went back in the hospital for a day because she had more issues. She's slowly getting better tho, so that's good.
When my father went to pick her up, he also picked up this dreadful flu/cold/black plague of certain death. Which he oh so kindly shared with yours truly. It started on Thursday, and by Friday, I felt dreadful. I'm still really sick, coughing, I lost my voice pretty much (currently sound like a frog who smokes 12 packs a day, which isn't as fun as it sounds), and just generally miserable. Believe it or not, this is a major improvement from what I was feeling.
What I've been doing mostly is sleeping. And when I'm not doing that, reading or knitting and watching netflix and dvds. this is my main project right now
It's the mystery with joji shawl and I'm in love with this already. The colours I picked out are just so amazing and I honestly just want to squuueeee! I got a late start due to christmas knitting. I still have three gifts to finish, but when you're sick, there is a rule that you must do selfish knitting. It's a rule, trust me. Right now I'm on clue two, and I have to do 7 repeats of 24 rows. I have done 1 and a half repeats so far, and I this rather insane notion that I'm going to be able to catch up before the 4th clue is released.
Which is the 16th. eek! Wish me luck!

15 days to go

There are 15 days left to Christmas. Which means I am in a slight (read AHHHH) panic about knitting all the things. I finished a gift! Which i will show you soon. And I will even tell you about my little oops on it (read, giant huge oops).
I still have 3 things to make by the 25th, and one thing by the 16th, which is gah, 6 days away.
Everything except one gift is on the needles and I'm knitting on them at every chance I get. Which do you do? do you cast on for all of them at once and knit as you can, or cast on for one gift and knit that till you finish it?
Last night, we put up the tree, and will decorate it tonight. I made a great dinner last night, Rosemary lemon garlic chicken over potatoes and onions, and then I quick whipped up a gravy to go with it. It turned out so well! While we ate, we listened to War of the Worlds. If you haven't heard it, you really need to. It's such a great thing and when it aired, it scared the ever loving crap out of everyone.
