I just know it

So, my sweater isn't finished. And the reason for that is that I know that the second I finish it, after getting all the ends woven in and making sure everything is just right, it would be too hot to wear it. So I have been delaying finishing it for as long as I can. I just have 1 sleeve and the neck to finish. And it's just laying there, waiting patiently for me to finish it. And one of these days, I will. Hopefully very soon.

It was my Mom's birthday last week. And I made her a pair of socks. And I also gave her a pair of blown glass earrings. So the socks are made with Blue Moon Fiber Arts in the color "Fairgrounds and the pattern is a Garter Rib. The first sock took me a day and a half. Which is a record for me. The second one took a little bit longer. Maybe 3 or 4 days.

Here's a close up of the heel.

I love love love this yarn. I made my mother a pair of Christmas socks out of it and she has worn them so often and they don't even show it.

This photo was taken just a few hours ago. And look at how nice they are!
Now I did finish a sock for me. It's been on the needles since last year. I casted on a few days before Halloween and I keep messing up the pattern. No reason why. Well, anyway I finished one of the socks. I'm almost done with the second one. I'm past the gusset and am now on the foot. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow. I wanted anklets but a bit longer. And that's what I made these to be.
Boo
The yarn is from White Oak Studio and it's in the color "Halloween". And it's a dk weight. I love it. It's so warm and the color is beautiful. I can't wait to finish the second one!
Like most people, I have a cell phone. And I can never find it in my purse. This is my purse.

So you see the problem. It's a HUGE purse. And I have a rather small phone. So, about 2 weeks ago,I decided to make a cell phone carrier. And that's what I did. I used Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in the color Tulip and it's my own pattern. This was my first time I tried knitting anything using the magic loop method. It was a bit odd at first but after a while I got the hang of it. It took me about 3 hours to knit and then felt it. I still have to sew some Velcro on it but other than that, it's done. I'm calling it Celly.
This is before felting.

And then this is after.

Cute, right? The pink phone isn't mine. But the silver (shown in the before photo) is mine.
I'm still crocheting (and crocheting and crocheting) the pink and purple afghan.
I'm (finally) down to my last 2 skeins so I should be able to finish it any day now. I hope.
Oh, and I have one (or two) last thing to tell you before I go. I'm starting a new purse for the spring/summer. It's from the book Kitty knits (which is a really cool book. I want to make everything in it) and it's the Felted Carpet Bag (Ravelry link). And it has a cat on it! It's so adorable. I can't wait to knit on it. Also, if you look on the cover of the book, you see this cute hat. Well, I got the yarn needed to make it and I should be casting on for it soon.
One more thing. I'm starting my very first lace shawl. I'm so excited! When I was at Stitches last year, I won a gift certificate from Lisa Souza and I bought this. I got the yarn in the color Spumoni. Right now, I'm swatching it, but I'm hoping to cast it on this weekend.
OK that's it. I swear.
